Reflec Media's ChromaFlex EL Successfully Launched
Reflecmedia's latest product, ChromaFlex EL, was positively received at BETT, the recent Education Technology show in London.
ChromaFlex EL is made by Reflecmedia from patented material, Chromatte. It is designed specifically for ease of use in chroma key production. ChromaFlex EL offers positive benefits when compared to traditional blue/green screen methods. It eliminates the need for expensive studio lighting, is suitable to use in almost any environment and dramatically cuts down studio set-up time and costs. The ChromaFlex EL system consists of a 1.4m x 1m (4ft x 3ft) collapsible Chromatte screen, a LiteRing (to attach around the camera lens), a controller to adjust the intensity of the light from the LiteRing, power supply and adapter, all which can easily transported in its own bag. It is also markedly cheaper than the full scale ChromaFlex system that is aimed at the professional production video and film companies.
ChromaFlex EL is extremely versatile and will be pertinent to curriculum areas such as creative writing, science and verbal skills. Students can re-enact historic events in front of keyed images of the Tower of London, report on current affairs in front of No. 10, explain reactions between elements of the weather or even practice French while 'strolling' down the Champs Elysée. Suitable for a full range educational areas as well as across the whole curriculum, ChromaFlex EL can bring a new dimension to both teaching and learning.
This simple and easy to use system is extremely effective and does not have to be permanently positioned. Rather it can be easily moved and set up in any classroom, gymnasium or auditorium, so offering a new, exciting and interactive form of learning which acts as a great audio-visual aid by allowing students and teachers to demonstrate their creativity imaginatively.
Commenting on the launch of ChromaFlex EL, John Herbert, General Manager of Reflecmedia, said, "This is another example of listening to our customers and producing a product which meets their needs and fits within their budgets. Visitors at the show were impressed with the capabilities the product offers to schools and the reaction from a major supplier of technical training should result in a healthy flow of orders. Having just launched ChromaFlex EL, we are now in the final stages of developing yet another product to meet customer demand. This should be available sometime in spring."
Within the UK ChromaFlex EL is now available from Reflecmedia.s resellers, Video Source, Kulu Valley and Planet PC. The next opportunity to see demonstrations of the ease of chroma keying using ChromaFlex will be at VideoForum at Earl's Court on 6 - 8 February.
